Fuerteventura is believed to be the oldest of the Canary Islands. Formed millions of years ago by massive volcanic explosions the geography of the island is a barren but mysteriously beautiful one. Separated from the African continent by only a narrow channel the trade winds have blown huge volumes Saharan sand onto Fuerteventura’s shores creating over 150 of Europe’s and indeed in some cases, the worlds´ most breathtaking beaches.
Next to one of Fuerteventura’s main resorts of Corralejo is the world renowned Corralejo Dunes Natural Park. Here is where you will find vast wild areas of dunes and white beaches of sand that stretch as far as the eye can see. In Sotavento, Barlovento, Cofete the beaches are all huge, white, quiet and with very few people around.
Sand and sunshine are not the only things that can be found on this remarkable island. For history buffs a visit to the towns of Antigua, Betancuria and Tuineje is a must, this is where the remains of the English and Berber pirate raids lie with towers, fortresses, and castles, etc. For hikers, there are amazing walks across dunes and up mountains including one of the many volcanoes such as Tindaya. Sports enthusiasts will appreciate the winds and the low lying shores which make the whole island a windsurfers paradise with wind and water sports being found all along the coastline. The crystal clear waters and deep underwater shelves make fishing and diving in Fuerteventura’s oceans an awe inspiring pleasure.

Why not come over on holiday first and see not only what area you prefer, but what type of property who want to purchase.
